HZNU Graduate Qian Sicong Listed in Top 10 National College Entrepreneurial Heroes

A few days ago, the winners of the Activity of Looking for the 2016 National College Entrepreneurial Heroes were announced, which was jointly organized by the School Department of the CYL Central Committee, the Secretariat of the All-China Students’ Federation, China Youth Daily and KAB National Promotion Office. Qian Sicong, an e-commerce graduate from Alibaba Business School of Hangzhou Normal University (HZNU) in 2014, was listed in the “2016 Top 10 National College Entrepreneurial Heroes”. He was the only winner from the universities in Zhejiang Province.

Qian Sicong’s name was closely connected with his business startup during her four-year university life, when she founded Hangzhou Sicong E-commerce Co. Ltd., and developed a women’s wear brand of her own. In2014, The sales volume of her company reached 17.7 million yuan, with a profit of 2.2 million. She won the gold medal in the Ninth National Challenge Cup College Students Entrepreneurship Competition, and was honored with the “National Undergraduate Innovation and Entrepreneurship Training Program” and the“E-Business Excellent Case” by the Ali Institute of Alibaba Group. She was determined to make Chinese women’s wear a world-renowned brand. China Education Daily, People’s Daily Online, IFENG, Youth Times and Qianjiang Evening News had reports about her entrepreneurship.

It is reported that the “Looking for the 2016 National College Entrepreneurial Heroes Activity” aims to carry out the national Entrepreneurship and Innovation Policy, lead the contemporary college students to reflect on self-career planning and entrepreneurship practice, and actively participate in entrepreneurial practice by searching, finding, displaying and spreading exemplary forces of College Entrepreneurial Heroes, in a bid to promote a good environment for “Mass Entrepreneurship and Innovation" . This activity is targeted at college student entrepreneurs and those whose graduation is within 3 years. Since the activity started last November, Qian Sicong, through the procedures of application, WeChat poll, online appraisal and experts’ site assessment, finally stood out from 482 candidates from 285 universities with her Hangzhou Sicong E-commerce Co. Ltd., becoming the only winner from the universities in Zhejiang to be listed in the 2016 Top 10 National College Entrepreneurial Heroes.
